VETERAN LAW ENFORCEMENT AND TERRORISM EXPERT JOINS ORLANDO, FLA.-BASED PROFESSIONAL SECURITY CONSULTING FIRM

ORLANDO, Fla. (April 12, 2010) – Former Orange County Fla. Sheriff Kevin Beary has joined Center for Security Solutions as an independent security consultant.  Beary was the top elected law enforcement official for one of the largest law enforcement agencies in the Southeastern U.S. for 16 years; retiring in 2009.

Beary is a third generation law enforcement officer and has served in the law enforcement and security fields for the past 34 years.  His career distinctions include:

• Appointed by Florida Governor Jeb Bush to co-chair the Florida Domestic Security Task Force (Region V) on terrorism

• Member of the FBI’s Executive Advisory Team for Homeland Security

• Member of the International Association of Chiefs of Police Terrorism Committee. (IACP is the world’s oldest and largest nonprofit membership organization of police executives.)

• Member of the American Society for Industrial Security’s International Standing Council on Global Terrorism

• Named “National Sheriff of the Year” by the National Sheriff’s Association

• Named “Law Enforcement Officer of the Year” by the National Rifle Association

• Recipient of the Silver Beaver Award from the Boy Scouts of America Central Florida Council

• Recipient of the Professional Achievement Award from the University of Central Florida

• Past chairman of the National Police Board of G.R.E.A.T. (Gang Resistance Education and Training)

• Past president of the Major County Sheriffs’ Association, Central Florida Criminal Justice Association and the Florida SWAT Association

America Operations Advisory Committee.

Beary earned his bachelor’s degree in General Studies, with minors in Psychology, Police Administration and Criminal Justice, from Liberty University and his master’s degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Central Florida.
