Kelly S. Klatt, CPP, CLSD, FCP is a former Los Angeles Police Officer having spent 15 years in various challenging assignments. After LAPD, he focused on Shopping Center Security Management by joining The Hahn Company, a shopping center management firm with over 50 major regional shopping centers.  During his 3-year tenure in retail and facility security Klatt was a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers. He then spent 7 years with the City of San Diego as the Chief of Convention Center Police and as a member of the International Association of Assembly Managers. There his responsibilities included security at all City of San Diego public assembly facilities and parking. During which time, he was in charge of security at city venues for all major public assembly and crowd management events.  These included the 1996 Republican National Convention and the 1998 Super Bowl XXXII. He was recruited in 1999 to join Loews Hotels, in Orlando to design and manage their extensive security programs. In 2004 Klatt assisted the Hellenic National Police in Athens, Greece with Emergency Operations Center functionality and training in preparation for the XXVIII Olympics.

For the past 24 years Klatt has been the Area Director of Safety & Security for Loews Hotels’ eight resorts, 9,000 room hotel campus, soon to be eleven resorts and 11,000 guest rooms in partnership with the Universal Orlando theme parks (www.universalorlando.com). There he is responsible for safety and security planning, technology, investigations, personnel, policies and procedures. Additionally, Klatt is responsible for guest and team member safety, including food & beverage operations, employee safety programs, workplace violence mitigation and emergency training and response.

Klatt operates the Center for Security Solutions, Inc. (www.c4ssi.com) a security consulting group. Through C4SSi, among other projects, he has been the primary Security Consultant for Lockheed Martin’s “New Security Initiatives” program and Tavistock Group’s “Albany” high end development community in the Bahamas. There he designed Albany’s security and fire response programs as well as their security command center and gatehouse operations. Additionally, Klatt has been designated a Security Forensics Expert Witness in over 100 cases for both Plaintiff and Defense clients.

Klatt was designated a CPP, Board Certified in Security Management in 1993 by ASIS International and a CLSD, Certified Lodging Security Director by the American Hotel & Lodging Association in 2017. He is a certified Florida Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design Practitioner (FCP) by the Office of the Florida Attorney General, an OSHA certified Compliance Officer, as well as a Red Cross certified CPR and First Aid Instructor. Klatt is an active member of the International Association of Professional Security Consultants and is the past Vice Chairman of the ASIS International Hospitality Entertainment and Tourism Security Council. He was awarded the Red Cross Certificate of Merit, by the President of the United States, for saving a life using CPR skills in 1996.
